Our Philosophy
In todays increasingly complicated financial world, its essential that you work with professionals who understand your needs as well as the financial markets. At Wilcox Financial, we analyze your current financial situation today, where you want to be tomorrow, and develop viable solutions to help get you there.
We provide you with high quality financial products and services to help you reach your long-term objectives. And we apply our extensive capabilities and experience to your financial needs to help make sure your long-term plan is designed to meet your needs. Our planning advice and recommendations are always objective and independent, free of the inherent conflicts of interest sometimes associated with other financial service providers.
Comprehensive Planning for Individuals
Making the right decisions along lifes journey can be challenging without clearly defined steps you plan to take to reach your goals. You need a plan, or a blueprint, to help guide the way. Your plan should be custom-tailored to you based on your financial situation, your time horizon, your tax bracket, your liquidity needs and your tolerance for risk. And by using a disciplined and comprehensive planning process, you can better integrate your financial decisions with your long-term goals.
At Wilcox Financial, we will help you build a strategic financial program designed to help you reach your goals. We work with your other financial advisors, your estate and tax planning professionals, to develop a comprehensive plan that meets your needs.
Fact Finding
In our initial meeting, we will focus on gathering relevant financial information, reviewing your situation, establishing your risk tolerance and time horizon, and setting lifetime goals. We listen carefully to all your input and concerns, and make sure we understand your situation and goals. These initial discussions serve as the framework for developing your financial plan.
First-Cut Meeting
After a thorough analysis of your situation and goals, we will meet again and review your overall financial position. Depending on your situation, this may involve comprehensive input from your other advisors attorneys, accountants, trust professionals and/or bankers. During this review, we will demonstrate how we organize all the elements of your financial plan.
Your Financial Planning Notebook
At your First-Cut meeting, you will be given a personalized financial planning notebook designed to help you keep all your relevant financial information in one convenient location. The notebook will also enable you to monitor your financial growth and success over time.
Your financial planning notebook outlines:
- Objectives: A prioritized outline of your financial objectives and strategies
- Agenda: A list of imperative issues which require urgent action steps
- Balance Sheet: An accounting of your assets, liabilities and net worth
- Retirement Planning: Detailing all your pre-tax and after-tax retirement accounts.
- Company Benefits: Outlining your pension and company plan benefits, including stock options
- Risk Management: Summary of all insurance protection for you and your family
- Estate Planning: Current information on your estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney.
- Tax Returns: Current tax return information and other relevant tax planning information.
Implementation
We help you take the next steps and put your plan into action. We begin by prioritizing each recommendation based on your goals and objectives, establishing a realistic timeline to complete these transitions. At all points along the way, you are highly involved in the planning process, and we give you the tools and advice you need to take the actions that will help you on your way to achieving your financial goals.
Periodic Review and Revision
We hold quarterly, semiannual or annual checkpoints as needed. In these review sessions, we use your financial planning notebook as the framework for our review to make sure your plan remains on track. We will make adjustments as necessary, based on your evolving needs and personal situation.
Risk Management
Two key elements in your financial plan will help assure that you meet your objectives: time and discipline. You need a disciplined strategy and the time to let your money accumulate and compound.
However, time is not guaranteed to anyone. None of us can be certain that we will have the time needed to reach our financial goals.
A well-planned risk management strategy is an effective way to buy time. Insurance protection provides a reliable source of tax-free income for you and your dependents when you need it most.
Our risk management planning involves a review of your needs for life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care insurance and mortgage protection. Having a sound risk management strategy in place can ensure the protection of your loved ones and provide priceless peace of mind.
Wealth Management
Our wealth management process involves a thorough, precise and disciplined approach to investing. Your investment plan is based on your needs and customized to your goals and risk tolerance. And you have the assurance of knowing that Wilcox Financial is an experienced investment advisory firm registered with the state of Ohio.
Examination
We begin by identifying, quantifying and prioritizing your investment goals. We determine and articulate short-term, intermediate-term and long-term objectives. These goals are based on your personal needs, time horizon, liquidity preferences and risk tolerance.
Customization
We tailor each portfolio to meet the unique needs and goals of our clients. We plan a comprehensive investment strategy for your portfolio that takes into account our analysis of current market and global economic conditions. Our investment professionals will select and monitor portfolio managers, who each specialize in a specific investment style, for your portfolio.
We always use careful risk analysis with each investment we make, recommending only those investments that are appropriate for your risk tolerance level. We believe its important that you are comfortable with your portfolio.
Diversification
We diversify your portfolio globally as well as by investment style, industry, and asset class. By combining the benefits of professional wealth management with a customized asset allocation strategy, we help you minimize risk while maximizing opportunity for reward.
Ongoing Review
We regularly evaluate the performance of your portfolio to measure progress toward meeting your goals. As new investment opportunities arise, we will analyze them and help you determine which ones are compatible with your objectives. We also regularly monitor market and economic conditions, and evaluate investment managers to determine whether they are meeting their specific goals.
We will meet with you regularly to assess your changing needs. As your needs evolve, we will make strategic adjustments to your investment plan as appropriate.
Planning For Businesses
We provide services for small business owners and self-employed individuals including cash flow management, qualified retirement plans, and succession and estate planning.
Succession Planning
We can help you plan to make sure your business continues once you step aside, help you provide an income for your retirement, as well as your spouse's, and help you minimize the tax liability on the transfer.
Retirement Plans
As an independent company, our team of experts can analyze your situation and help you design and select the best retirement plan for your company. We can help you set up and administer qualified retirement plans, such as SIMPLE and SEP IRA plans, as well as 401(k) and profit sharing plans. Once the plan is set up, we can help you plan for appropriate investment alternatives for the plan.
A well-designed company retirement plan can help you reduce costs, provide contribution flexibility, provide more accumulation opportunities for both you and your employees, and allow you to provide different levels of benefits to segregated classes of employees.
Our retirement plan specialists can also help you manage the fiduciary risks associated with your company retirement plan, and provide employee education and communication through one-on-one meeting and group educational workshops.
