MICHAEL R. WILCOX, CEO

Mike is Chief Executive Officer of WILCOX FINANCIAL,   a diversified financial services and consulting company headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.  He founded WILCOX FINANCIAL in 1982 and also owns several other companies in the Toledo area. 

Mike is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and was a two-time captain of the nationally ranked lacrosse team, as well as a three-time All American in Lacrosse.  He was elected to the Bowling Green Athletic Hall of Fame and the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame.  Mike is also a graduate of The Peddie School and a member of its Athletic Hall of Fame.

A 30 year veteran of the financial services industry, Mike has spoken at numerous financial and estate planning meetings and sales conferences throughout the U.S., as well as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, England, Singapore, Malaysia, Switzerland, Monaco, France, Thailand, South America, Denmark, Norway and Russia. 

In addition to his professional experience, he is active as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, Bowling Green State University, as well as the Toledo Symphony Orchestra.  He also serves as a Board Member of The Culver Educational Foundation, and is Vice-Chair of the U.S. Lacrosse Foundation.

Mike has also served as a Board Member of the Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce, The Toledo Area Small Business Association, the Bowling Green State University Foundation, the Huntington Bank and also served as Chairman of Junior Achievement of Northwest Ohio for two years.

Mike and his wife, Jan, have two children.  Benjamin is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and Sarah is a Senior at The Ohio State University.

MARK L. FERRIS CFP, CLU and ChFC 

Mark L. Ferris is a Financial Consultant at WILCOX FINANCIAL whose success in the financial arena has proved vital in working with numerous individuals and corporations, helping to define and achieve their financial goals.  Mark's entire career has been focused upon identifying client objectives and helping clients choose appropriate solutions.

As a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Chartered Financial Consultant, Mark not only trains new as well as experienced associates, but also provides assistance and experience with advanced planning designs. Among his professional memberships are the Financial Planning Association and the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

Mark's commitment to providing clients with quality advice has allowed him many opportunities to conduct seminars throughout the United States with employee groups, private banking groups, and medical groups, with personalized attention to each client.  In addition, he teaches various classes in the community, ranging from high school financial planning programs to adult investment education.

 For over twenty years, Mark has worked extensively in all facets of financial planning and is the recipient of advanced designations from The American College and The College for Financial Planning.  His knowledge enables him to provide financial planning advice for individuals and corporations.  His work focuses on complex financial services, including strategic investment planning, as well as retirement and estate planning needs.

 Mark has earned the prestigious DALBAR Financial Professional Seal, a national award that recognizes financial professionals who have achieved overall excellence in areas of client trust, financial results, quality of advice and satisfaction. His avocations are bicycling and ballroom dancing.

 

PATRICK J. KENNEY, CPA 

Patrick Kenney is a graduate of Miami University with a degree in Accounting and was named to the list of Who’s Who in American Universities. After beginning a career in public accounting and obtaining his CPA designation, Patrick entered the financial services industry and has built upon extensive experience assisting individuals and corporations in a variety of financial related issues.

Patrick is a Registered Investment Advisor providing investment advice to an extensive clientele. Since 1983, Patrick has built a strong reputation in the financial planning industry focuses on retirement investment services including design, implementation and communication to plan participants. 

Besides his financial advisory business, Patrick has additional entrepreneurial experience. He was a founding shareholder in a home health care business which grew to thirty-five offices in five states and which in 2003 sold to a publicly traded industry leader. He is also a founding board member of the Ohio Innovations Fund, a venture capital fund located in Cleveland, Ohio which provides initial round financing to technical startup companies.

In 1998, Patrick was a recipient of the Twenty Under Forty Award, recognizing individuals in Northwest Ohio for leadership in their career and community. Patrick maintains a strong commitment to local civic and charitable organizations. He is a past board member of Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce, the Toledo Area Small Business Association, to which he was elected to serve as President, and to St. Francis de Sales High School Endowment Board. 

He currently serves on the Toledo Botanical Gardens Board, the St. Ursula Academy Foundation Board, the St. Francis Alumni Board and the Keep Toledo-Lucas County Beautiful Advisory Board.

He holds numerous industry awards including membership in the Top of The Table which recognizes less that 1% world wide in the financial services industry. In 2002, he was Field Advisory Chair Person for Union Central, one of the country’s largest and oldest mutual insurance companies. He has qualified for their National Marketing Conference every year since 1986, including four times at President’s Club, four at Leaders’ Circle, two at Inner Circle and ten Summit qualifications. Union Central, a company with 150 year history, selected Patrick as their 23rd inductee into the company’s prestigious Hall of Fame. 

For recreation, Patrick is a licensed pilot, a marathon runner and an avid fly fisherman.

 

THOMAS R. TOUSLEY, MBA 

Thomas R. Tousley is a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in Economics.  He spent five years on active duty as a Naval officer before entering graduate school.  After receiving his MBA in Finance, Tom spent eight years as a commercial loan officer followed by five and a half years as Vice President of an equipment leasing company.  Since 1991, Tom has served as a Capital Management Specialist at WILCOX FINANCIAL, focusing on the analysis, design, and implementation of financial plans, retirement programs, and investment strategies for corporations and individuals.  In addition to having an advanced degree in Finance, Tom has earned the credentials required of an Investment Advisor.

Mr. Tousley’s commitment to the community is evidenced by his past involvement as a Junior Achievement Project Business Consultant, volunteer service to the United Way of Greater Toledo as chairman of an allocation committee, and chairmanship of his Church’s Board.  He presently serves as a Trustee and is Treasurer of his Church’s Foundation and is a member and past President of the Exchange Club of Toledo. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Board Directors of the Northwest Ohio Division of the American Heart Association, and is a past member of the Finance and Operations Committee of the Ohio Valley Affiliate of the American Heart Association.

Tom and his wife reside in Perrysburg and he actively consults with other associates in the firm on investment planning, design and implementation for his clients.

JARROD F. HIRSCHFELD 

Jarrod is a Financial Advisor at Wilcox Financial.  He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Financial Economics.  He served as Undergraduate Student Representative to the Board of Trustees, as well as President of the Economics Club and Treasurer of the University Ambassadors.  Jarrod is also a graduate of Culver Military Academy, where he graduated with numerous awards in leadership.
 
Jarrod began his business career in the investment business in 2003 and joined Wilcox Financial in the fall of 2006.  He works with individuals and business owners in the area of financial, investment and retirement planning.
 
Jarrod earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation, which helps provide solutions for clients in areas of allocation and risk management.  He is dedicated to the needs and success of those he works with.
 
Jarrod currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member for Junior Achievement of Northwest Ohio, an organization that teaches over 22,000 local children business and financial skills.  He is also very active in the BGSU Alumni Association.
 
Jarrod and his wife, Erin, reside in Toledo, Ohio.
 
 

PETER J. WINOVICH 

 
Peter Winovich joined Wilcox financial after graduating from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Financial Economics. While playing in every game of his career he helped lead BGSU football to two MAC East titles and two bowl games. There he excelled both athletically and academically earning recognitions into the 2008 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Honor Society, Falcon Club’s Junior Scholar Athlete of the year and ESPN The Magazine Academic All District. 

He enjoyed spending time outside of class and off the field tutoring other students and fellow athletes in every one of the business courses offered at BGSU. By his senior year he had the most students under his tutelage than any other advisor in the academic department. He also was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SACC).

Peter graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in the south hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There he quarterbacked to a school record 30 wins and 5 losses with his last game at the WPIAL championships at Heinz Field. 

Peter currently resides in Toledo, Ohio and sits on the Sharpie Shootout Fund Committee, the Falcon Club Advisory Board and the Young Alumni Foundation Board.

Our Team

 
Ann M. Alford, New Business Coordinator and Network Administrator
Ann joined Wilcox Financial in September 1992 and serves as the liaison between the firm’s clients, underwriter and medical facilities with the insurance processing.  She also assists with the licensing, case design and client service for our in-house and field advisors.
 
In addition, Ann is an experienced network administrator with extensive knowledge of Personal Computer systems in the business environment.  She has overseen the growth and implementation of the information technology systems and solutions at Wilcox Financial.
 
Cinthia M. Cunningham, Retirement Plans Specialist
Cindi assists the Financial Advisors in managing and maintaining our qualified retirement plan client’s accounts.  She specializes in retirement plan design, implementation, and ongoing administration.  Prior to joining the Wilcox Financial team in July of 2001, Cindi worked for National City Bank and brings with her 15 years of experience in the retirement plans field.
 
Sara J. Everly, Controller
Sara runs our business operations and assists with the overall organization of our office.  She has an excellent and diverse background, including all aspects of accounting - accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll.  Prior to joining Wilcox Financial team in December of 2003, Sara worked for 17 years with Northshore Computer Solutions as the Accounting Information Services Representative.  Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Toledo.
 
Christine M. Fox, Assistant to Patrick J. Kenney
Chris joined the Wilcox Financial team in January of 1996 as Patrick J. Kenney’s administrative assistant.  Chris works directly with the Patrick’s clients with any questions or requests they might have regarding issues relating to their account.  Chris works with both new and existing clients to set up accounts handle daily inquiries and help take care of any administrative issues or questions.  She also helps gather information from clients to facilitate the financial planning process.  She has been a part of Patrick Kenney’s team for ten years.
 
Christine M. Point, Client Relations Specialist
When Chris joined the Wilcox Financial team in 1979 she brought with her the background in office administration, service and marketing in small business environments.  Her strong work ethics, organizational and system skills have not only contributed to the success of the company but have been instrumental in the servicing and retention of our client base.
 
Chris has worn many hats during her tenure at Wilcox Financial but is primarily responsible for insurance product analysis, research and case design.  She interacts daily with clients and outside advisors expediting services and estate planning issues.  Chris is involved with marketing activities for Wilcox Financial resulting in enhanced revenue creation for the firm.  In addition to service and marketing activities, she is also responsible for various state licensing, monitoring continuing education and SEC compliance filings.
 
Donna J. Lilly, Executive Assistant
Donna joined the Wilcox Financial team in April of 2003 as our receptionist and has recently accepted the position as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and the President of Wilcox Financial. In addition to her administrative duties, she is very active in coordinating meetings, interacting with clients, associates and other professionals.
 
Dawn M. Szych-Liske, Financial Analyst
Dawn joined the Wilcox Financial team in July of 2001 as our Financial Analyst.  She specializes in the research, analysis, design, and overall coordination of our Financial Planning Department.  As one of our Client Relations Specialist, she works directly with our financial consulting clients in every aspect of their individual plan.  Dawn is committed to client services and adhering to the specials needs of our clients.
 
She brings 15 years of industry experience from Mass Mutual as an insurance brokerage coordinator, as well as National City as a marketing specialist.
 
Dawn resides in Point Place with her husband Joel and their five children.
 
Crissy M. Scharf, Financial Analyst
Crissy joined the Wilcox Financial team in August 2007 as a Financial Analyst.  She brings 12 years of industry experience.  Crissy is Life, Health, and Disability Insurance licensed as well as having her Series 6 and Series 63 licensing for the Securities Industry.  She specializes in the research, analysis, design and implementation in the Financial Planning arena.  Crissy's work ethic, devotion and professionalism are demonstrated in her daily interaction with clients, advisors and peers.
